DIRECTIONS: HOW TO GET YOUR SPAWN BAG TO FRUIT
For the first flush
1. Find an ideal location for your mushroom. A safe, room temperature location.
2. Incubation time will vary based on temperature and inoculation rate. Eventually you will begin to see light strands of mycelium.
3. Once you see the white mycelium on a good portion of the block, use a clean knife to cut a 4-5 inch slit on the front of the bag
4. Compress and roll up the excess bag and rubber band it so that there is no extra space on top. Ensure you roll the bag's top so that the filter is not exposed, but on the insdie of the plastic.= Keeping the rubber bands away from the cut.
5. Take a clear plastic bag or grocery bag and mist the inside of it, fitting it loosely on top of the mushroom block. Make sure it is loosely around it so that the fruting body has plenty of space in the front to grow.
6.Mist the inside of the bag 1-2 times per day. Do not mist if you see a good amout of condensation on the bag or mushroom already.
For subsequent flushes
7. Once you have had a flush and harvested the fruiting bodies, you may try for secondary and tertiary flushes by taking the block and submerging it underwater (room temperature or cooler-but not cold) for half a day to a day.
8. Allow your spawn bag to drain out allow it to air dry (it will still stay moist but not soaking) and cover your previous bag cut with tape, or fold the bags top over and make a cut on the other side.
9. If you observe the spawn bag drying out and looking brittle follow steps 5 and 6 again.
