Join Josh Calo, lead Apiculturist of Sol Nectar Farm at a different Southern Maryland apiary each session for Beekeeping 101
This is a three part series:
- Sunday April 2st. 1p.m. - 3p.m. (La Plata, Md.)
- Sunday April 16th. 1p.m. - 3p.m. (Leonardtown, Md.)
- Sunday April 30th. 1p.m. - 3p.m. (St. Leonard, Md.)
Beekeeping 101 will afford the attendee a sufficient grasp on the basic tenets of beekeeping.
The attendee who partakes in the entire series.. will have been presented the knowledge & information necessary to then begin keeping bees.
Topics will include; but are not limited to:
- Honey bee biology
- Honey bee gear
- Honey bee management and care
*This is an indoor & outdoor event ~ rain or shine!
*If weather is suitable for a visit in the apiary we may head outdoors
*While this is not an age restricted class each attendee present must be accounted for with a paid ticket.. and all those in attendance must be able to maintain formal education type composure.. so as to allow everyone the opportunity to absorb the information being disseminated with minimal distraction.
*While there are no refunds for this class; if notice is provided 24 hours prior to the class commencing.. the ticket holder may request the ticket be transferred to a subsequent class (conducted by Josh Calo on behalf of Sol Nectar Farm) of equal or lesser value (this is a one time transferable courtesy valid for one year)
